Music never fails to jazz up our boring life, but what brings life to music is a video. Music videos are like short musical films that depict the meaning of the song. The first ever music video that was made was “The Buggles” and it was released  in early August, in the year 1981, on MTV. Over time we have got some real masterpieces in the form of music videos. A South Korean singer, Psy, took the music industry by storm when he released his song “Gangnam Style.” This song has remarkable significance in the history of K-pop. Its quirky nature has attracted 3.8 billion views on YouTube and the song is still trending. The hook step of the song is still a “cool” dance move among the millennials. It was released on July 15, 2012, and went viral in August 2012.

It was the most-liked video on YouTube by September 2012 and was thereafter noticed by the Guinness World Records. Talking about the accolades, the song was at number one on South Korea’s Gaon Chart and number two on United Nations Billboard Hot 100. This song is still celebrated and a trendsetter!

“Thinking Out Loud” is the perfect song for the perfect evening with your special one. After Perfect, this one is our favorite from the legendary singer and song-writer Ed Sheeran. It was released on September 24, 2014. Sheeran never fails to bring back those pleasant memories through his songs and this song is no different. This song speaks volumes about the feelings of a lover who is hopeful that his love will stay by his side even after he turns gray.

This song became so popular that it was trending in the top 40 in the UK for 19 weeks and secured the second place in both the US and Canadian Billboard Hot 100. It also topped the list in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Denmark, Netherlands, Slovakia and South Africa. This song currently has 3.1 billion views on YouTube and was the first song to be played more than 500 times on Spotify. It became the first single to make its way to the UK top 40 list for an year and received triple-platinum certification from the UK during the 21st century.

Wiz Khalifa’s famous 2015 song “See You Again” featuring Charlie Puth is the movie Furious 7’s soundtrack which was a tribute to the legendary actor Paul Walker. This track has two verses, the first where the cast and the crew applauds Walker’s journey and his work. The second verse is written from Walker’s narrative where he cherishes his friendship and  special bond with Vin Diesel.

This song was a major hit. It has earned 4.59 billion views and was at the top of the US Hot Billboard Hot 100 for 12 non-consecutive weeks. It also holds the record for being the most streamed track in one day on Spotify. The music,  lyrics and  video complement each other so well that the music video  looks like a solved puzzle. It was the most viewed music video on YouTube from  July 10th to August 4th, 2017.

The song also received nominations for the following awards at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards: Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media. It was the best-selling song worldwide in 2015 and got shortlisted for the Song of the Year for the BBC Music Awards. It was also nominated as the Best Original Song at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards. Through this song, Ed conveys that physical attraction at the first sight can lead to deeper, meaningful relationships, and then continues appreciating the traits of the girl in the video. In one of his interviews, Ed Sheeran subtly mentioned that he wrote the song  for Rihanna.

This song won hearts across the world and was at the top of the charts in the US and Canadian Billboard Hot 100 for 16 consecutive weeks. It was also sitting at the top on  the UK Singles Chart for 14 consecutive weeks. It was the best-selling song of 2017 and of the decade in the UK.

This song was also the most-streamed song of the decade on Spotify by December 2019. You won’t be surprised to know that the Grammy Award for the Best Pop Solo Performance at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards was awarded to this song. This record-breaking song was released on January 13, 2017 and was viewed over 3 billion times by August 2017. It is the most-viewed and most-liked video on YouTube. Today,  the viewership count is over 6 billion.

The song was a massive hit soon after its release and has been at the top in nearly 50 countries. Not only this but the song has also received its share of criticism because of its lyrics that somehow f objectifies women. Nevertheless, the overall music video,  especially the last part of the song, which has a multi-national appeal saved it from drowning and made it a star.

It is the first Spanish song to top the United Nations Billboard Hot 100 list and  received a diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.  A proud moment for the Latinas! We are pretty sure that you have listened to this song a couple of times already but nothing sets the mood like Despactio.

There are a lot of controversies going around suggesting that The Weeknd is mentioning his past love in this song. It is his most successful single till date as this song has achieved number one position in 34 countries, including the US and Canada’s  Billboard Hot 100 for four to seven weeks respectively.

We all can relate to this song as it speaks of rekindling love. It has not only caused a rage on the social media but has also achieved a significant place on the radio. The song  has been on the top for 19 weeks at the Radio Songstally, thus creating  history. It was love at the first beat for us as it has 170 beats per minute. It has already earned a lot of appreciation but we are sure that there is a lot more to come.
